If you do need Java always remember that you do not need to use Oracle’s Java. Instead you can use open source java implementation called icedtea. It has good functionality and it is much more safer than the proprietary counterpart since open source community can fix bugs fast.
I cant believe how long this whole Java debacle has been going on for. Every week it’s getting worse and worse. Oracle is getting kicked in the teeth at the moment.
Yes. I’m more than happy when we finally arrive to the world where no Java is needed in a daily computing. I would also want to get rid of Flash as well.
